Congratulations to Darren Allen of Mt. Abram High School, who has been selected as the United Soccer Coaches National Small School Coach of the Year for 2023. He will be the guest of the United Soccer Coaches at the Convention in Anaheim, California in January. He is now the third Maine coach to receive this honor. Previously, David Halligan of Falmouth (Large School in 1998), and Aaron Wilcox of Bangor Christian (Private School in 2016) received this award from the United Soccer Coaches. Similarly, Maine has had three coaches selected by NFHS as National Coaches of the Year: 2018 – 2019 Meredith Messer of Camden Hills, 2020 – 2021 David Halligan of Falmouth, and 2021 – 2022 Michael Hagerty of Yarmouth.
