2022 – 2023 High School Team Academic Award Recipients
United Soccer Coaches annually celebrates the academic achievements of high school soccer teams whose student-athletes collectively demonstrate a commitment to excellence in their studies over the course of a full academic year.
To qualify for the award, the team must have a minimum grade point average of 3.25 for the entire academic year. The team GPA is determined by adding every player’s GPA, then dividing by the number of players.
A total of 321 soccer teams (126 boys, 195 girls) throughout the United States have earned the United Soccer Coaches High School Team Academic Award for exemplary performance in the classroom as a team during the 2022-23 academic year. Among these programs are 34 schools receiving honors for both their boys and girls teams.
Three of the 321 soccer teams selected for this award are from Maine. Congratulations to:
Girls Award Winner
Yarmouth High School Coach Andy Higgins 3.80 GPA
Boys Award Winners
John Bapst Memorial High School Coach Jason Pangburn 3.90 GPA
